History View

The history-view allows to manage old versions of the actual WYSIWYS section.

The history-view consists of

User Admin created a new WYSIWYG-section.  He activated "Enable working-copy" / "Enable extended controls", inserted content and a comment, and activated "Save old content in history ...".

After he saved this version, there were no entries in the history.  That is because there was no "old" version to push to history.

Later on, Admin added a link.  He changed the comment accordingly.

This was saved automatically as version 2.  The old version 1 was pushed to history.

Admin noticed that he did some mistakes in e-mail addresses and corrected them.  This version is saved as version 3.

The history showed version 1 and 2.

Later on User Joe made some changes.  He created version 4.

Version 3 was pushed to history.  Notice the column "Pushed to history by", which indicates that user Joe has pushed this version to history.

After Admin noticed that joe did a bad job, he decided to restore the last correct version (3), because he wasn't able to fix all the mistakes.

This step may be confusing.  So lets see what's going on in detail:

The previous published version 4 was pushed to history.  As you can see, User Joe last saved that version, and Admin pushed it to history.  Joe's comment was "added anchors to all headings".

The old history entry 3 was copied as published content and created version 5.

Then, Admin himself added the anchors, created version 6.

Version 5 was pushed to history.  Versions 3 and 5 are identical.

After two more changes the first version (1) was dropped automatically to keep only the last 6 versions.
